How does your sizing work?
Currently most of my pieces are available in one size, with the exception of the Mini Kinis, which are available in a S-M and M-L size. All of my pieces are designed to have a tiny, US Stripper style fit and will not offer support as they are made from single layer Lycra for a slinky, close-to-skin look. Every item is made with stretch fabric aswell as either tieable sides or adjustable straps to fit a range of sizes, and I am working on a size guide which will include strap measurements, recommended sizes and image references. Recently I have been able to outsource some of the sewing to a wonderful seamstress in the UK who is also helping me with furthering my size range while keeping the minimal look Forbidden Playhouse is known for.
How do I care for my items?
Forbidden Playhouse pieces are hand wash only. Please see the 'Care Guide' page for a full guide.
How long is shipping?
For UK customers I currently offer shipping via Royal Mail using their 24hr Tracked Service. Typically your package will arrive the day after it is posted, however please note Royal Mail do not guarantee this. You will receive a tracking code via email, if you do not get this just pop me a message and I will send it over. Orders placed before 7pm will be shipped the next day, Mon-Fri.
For US & International customers I offer International Tracked, which varies in price depending on your location. Royal Mail advise this method takes 6-10 days once posted and you will receive a tracking code via email. Orders placed before 7pm will be shipped the next day, Mon-Fri.
If you are unable to select shipping for your location please let me know and I will do my best to add it.
EU & NI CUSTOMERS - I am regrettably unable to ship orders to the EU and NI, due to current regulations. I am hoping to work through these soon so I can resume shipping to these locations.
Due to the nature of these items, I do not currently offer returns or exchanges. If you encounter any issues with your order, please do not hesitate to get in touch via email help@forbiddenplayhouse.co.uk and I will do what I can to help.
Why are your items always out of stock?
Forbidden Playhouse is currently run entirely by myself, with some help with order packing and admin from my lovely partner Mr. Playhouse. This means I do all the stock/fabric ordering, the pattern making, fabric cutting, sewing, photography, website and listing creation, message replying, social media running and so much more. This is alot of work, and as much as what I really want is to be able to freely sit and create gorgeous outfits all day, the reality is the other tasks must be done in order to keep things running (semi) smoothly, so I can't create as much of everything as I'd like. Hopefully now I have a seamstress onboard I can start to keep stocking flowing. Please bare with me!
Where are your items made?
Most of what you see on Forbidden Playhouse is made by myself in Manchester, UK, with the addition of some collections made by an amazing seamstress also here in the UK. My fabrics are sourced from a variety of sources, mostly based in the UK and the US. My Crystal Collection is sourced from a manufacturer, which is why they are just one size as I have no control over production. Accessories such as anklets are outsourced. Keyrings and stickers are drawn by myself and made custom.
Do you make custom pieces?
Currently I do not offer customs as I just do not have the time, however I hope to in the future.
Do you do collabs/affiliates?
Not officiallly but I do regularly gift items and discounts to those who's content I enjoy/share my content/provide SW info or resources. As a stripper owned brand I'm all about giving back to my community with gifting and rarely ask for content in exchange.
